Small rooms punish bad measurements
A kitchen can absorb a half-inch of slop. A bathroom cannot. When the room is five by eight, every fixture, every door swing, and every inch of counter matters, and a stock vanity that is two inches too narrow leaves a gap you will look at every single morning.
We build vanities to the opening you actually have, around the plumbing that is actually there. That is the whole pitch, and in a small room it is worth a great deal.
Where marble finally makes sense
On our countertop pages we spend a fair amount of time warning people about marble in kitchens — acid etches it, and that is chemistry no sealer fixes. A bathroom removes that entire objection. Nothing acidic ever touches a vanity top. If you have wanted real Carrara or Calacatta and been talked out of it, this is the room where you get to have it, and it is genuinely the right call rather than a compromise.
Quartz is the other excellent option here — non-porous, immune to toothpaste and cosmetics, no maintenance at all. Granite works well too. Bathrooms are the one place where the durability differences mostly stop mattering and you can choose on appearance.
What we do
- Custom vanities — floating, furniture-style, single or double, built to your opening.
- Stone tops with undermount or vessel sink cutouts, cut in our shop.
- Full-height stone backsplashes and shower surrounds.
- Storage that fits — linen towers, medicine niches, drawer banks around plumbing.
- Powder rooms, where a small footprint and a bold material make an outsized impression.
- Coordinated trades for tile, plumbing, and electrical on full remodels.
Choosing a countertop material in central New Mexico
Most people arrive with a material already in mind. We will fabricate whatever you choose, but we are also going to tell you where each one struggles, because the climate here is not neutral. Bathrooms rarely see direct sun, which opens the door to marble and to any quartz you like. A vanity top sees more water than any surface in the house, so hard water decides more here than anywhere.
- Granite — $55–$95 per sq ft installed. Igneous stone, every slab unique, indifferent to heat and sun. Needs sealing every one to three years. The default recommendation for sunrooms, outdoor bars, and anyone who cooks hard.
- Quartz — $65–$120 per sq ft installed. Engineered, non-porous, never sealed, consistent from sample to slab. The default for busy family kitchens and for anyone who will not think about maintenance. Keep it out of direct all-day sun.
- Marble — $75–$150 per sq ft installed. The most beautiful stone we cut and the softest. Perfect for vanities, fireplace surrounds, and a baking station. Etches from acids in a working kitchen, and we will say so.
- Quartzite — $85–$160 per sq ft installed. Natural stone that reads like marble and wears like granite. The answer when someone wants a white veined top in a kitchen that actually gets used.
Every one of those is templated, cut, and polished in our shop at 2369 Old Hwy 66, Edgewood, NM 87015, which is why we can hold a seam tight and keep an overhang even. You can see the full breakdown on our pricing guide.
Why hiring one shop for cabinets and countertops matters in New Mexico
Most remodels in New Mexico involve two companies who have never met: one sets cabinets, another fabricates stone. When the countertop does not sit flat, each explains why it is the other’s fault, and you are left holding a gap, a tube of caulk, and two phone numbers.
We run both sides under one roof. Cabinets are set and leveled by our crew, then the countertop is templated against those cabinets, cut in the same building, and installed by the same people. If something is off, it is ours, and there is nobody to point at. That is not a slogan. It is the reason the business is structured this way, and it is the reason the seams line up.
It also has a practical scheduling benefit. One contractor means one calendar, so cabinets and tops land in sequence instead of leaving your kitchen torn out for a week while a second company finds an opening.
How a project runs with us
- Call or send the form. Jesus answers, asks what you are trying to do, and books a time to come measure.
- On-site measurement and a straight conversation. We look at the room, the plumbing, the walls, and how you cook. If a material is wrong for your situation, this is where we say so.
- One written number. Template, fabrication, tear-out, install, haul-away, sealing. No per-item surprises after the fact.
- Slab or sample approval. For natural stone you see the actual slab and where the cuts land. For cabinets you approve a door sample and a finish chip.
- Fabrication in Edgewood. Cabinets built and finished in the shop. Countertops laser-templated once the cabinets are set and level, then cut on the CNC and polished.
- Install by the same crew. The people who measured are the people who build and the people who install. One point of contact from first visit to final walkthrough.
Countertop-only projects typically run one to two weeks from template to install. Full cabinet packages run four to eight weeks depending on wood and finish. A complete kitchen remodel is usually six to ten weeks once materials are approved.

Bathroom Remodeling Questions
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A vanity-and-countertop refresh is usually a few days once materials are in hand. A full bathroom — new vanity, tops, tile, fixtures — typically runs two to four weeks depending on tile scope and whether plumbing moves. Custom vanity build time is the main scheduling factor, and it happens before we ever disturb your bathroom.
What countertop is best for a bathroom?
Bathrooms are the one place we recommend marble without hesitation. Nothing acidic ever gets set on a vanity, so the etching problem that makes marble risky in kitchens simply does not apply, and the material looks extraordinary. Quartz is the other strong choice — non-porous, zero maintenance, and it shrugs off toothpaste, cosmetics, and hair products. Granite works well too. In a bathroom you genuinely can pick on looks.
Can you build a vanity for an odd-sized space?
That is most of why people call us. Stock vanities come in fixed widths, and older homes and half-baths rarely cooperate. We build to the actual opening, work around existing plumbing, and can do floating, furniture-style, or full-height storage. Awkward spaces are where custom pays for itself most obviously.
Do you handle tile and fixtures too?
We coordinate the full remodel. Vanities and countertops we build and install; tile, plumbing, and electrical are handled by licensed trades we schedule and manage, so you deal with one company and one timeline.
